Satoshi Widgets Privacy Policy

Summary

Satoshi Widgets brings Bitcoin data to iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, and Apple TV. We do not create user accounts, sell personal data, use advertising or product-analytics SDKs, report custom analytics events, or track you across apps or websites owned by other companies.

Scope and Controller

This policy covers the Satoshi Widgets apps, widgets, watch complications, Apple TV surfaces, backend services, and this website. Satoshi Widgets is responsible for the processing described here. For privacy questions or requests, contact app@satoshiwidgets.com.

Data We Process and Why

• On-device app data: appearance, fiat currency, dashboard, widget and complication settings, cached Bitcoin data, subscription access state, app-managed trial dates, and phone-to-watch sync payloads. This data is used to operate the apps and normally remains on your devices or in the app's shared container.
• Trial eligibility: StoreKit provides an App Store-verified app transaction identifier associated with the Apple Account that downloaded the app. The app sends this identifier, its verified bundle ID, and StoreKit environment to our Firebase backend. The backend authenticates the identifier with Apple's App Store Server API and, while a trial is absent or active, checks Apple's transaction history for a Monthly, Yearly, or Lifetime purchase. It derives a one-way SHA-256 identifier and stores the trial dates plus, when applicable, only a timestamp recording that paid access was found. The raw identifier and individual transactions are processed by Apple and Firebase/Google Cloud for this request but are not persisted by our backend. This is used only to provide one app-managed trial across reinstallations and the user's devices and to prevent a new trial after paid access ends.
• Purchases: Apple StoreKit processes purchases and subscriptions. The apps read product, entitlement, renewal, and expiration information needed to unlock access; the backend transiently checks Apple-provided purchase history only for trial eligibility as described above.
• Crash and session diagnostics: the iOS and tvOS apps use Firebase Crashlytics and its Firebase Sessions support component. They may process crash stack traces, installation identifiers, app state, device model, operating-system and app versions, memory or storage state, network and SDK metadata, and session lifecycle timing such as when the app starts, foregrounds, or backgrounds. We use this data to identify and fix crashes, group app-quality metrics into sessions, and measure crash-free sessions. We do not report custom interaction events.
• Service requests: requests to Firebase Functions, Firestore, and Hosting necessarily expose network information such as an IP address, request time, and user agent to Google infrastructure. This information is used to deliver content, maintain security, prevent abuse, and diagnose service failures.

Third-Party Services and Sharing

We use service providers only for the purposes described above:

• Apple: App Store, StoreKit, WatchConnectivity, operating-system services, and aggregate App Store Connect reports. Apple's processing is governed by the Apple Privacy Policy.
• Google: Firebase Crashlytics, Firebase Sessions, Cloud Firestore, Cloud Functions, and Firebase Hosting. Google's processing is governed by its Privacy Policy and applicable Firebase/Google Cloud data-processing terms.
• CoinGecko and mempool.space: our backend uses these services as sources of public Bitcoin market and network data. Production apps do not send your settings, identifiers, or user-created content to these providers.

We require providers that process data for us to protect it consistently with this policy and applicable law. We may disclose information if required by law or necessary to protect the security and integrity of the service. We do not sell personal data.

Retention and Deletion

• On-device settings and caches remain until you change them, clear the app's data, or delete the app. Keychain trial records may remain after uninstall according to Apple platform behavior.
• The raw app transaction identifier and individual purchase transactions are not stored by our backend. The pseudonymous SHA-256 trial record, its start/end dates, and any paid-access timestamp are retained while the app-managed trial program operates so reinstalling the app or ending paid access cannot start another trial. The endpoint returns responses with no-store caching.
• Firebase Crashlytics retains crash reports and associated identifiers for 90 days before removal begins.
• Firebase Hosting may retain request IP data for a few months for abuse prevention and service analysis. Operational security logs are retained according to our Google Cloud settings and applicable legal requirements.
• Support correspondence is retained only as long as needed to answer the request, maintain necessary records, or comply with law.

Your Choices and Requests

You can stop future crash-report collection by uninstalling the applicable app. Deleting an app does not cancel an App Store subscription; subscriptions are managed through your Apple Account.

You may contact app@satoshiwidgets.com to request access, correction, or deletion of data we control, or to object to or restrict processing where applicable. Because Satoshi Widgets has no accounts and diagnostic identifiers are not tied to an email address, we may be unable to identify pseudonymous crash records from an email request alone. We will explain what can be located and deleted.

Website Privacy

This website sets no cookies, uses no browser local storage, includes no analytics, and loads no third-party scripts. The Privacy Policy appearance follows your device or browser color scheme without storing a preference. Firebase Hosting still processes ordinary request information, including IP address and user agent, to deliver and secure the site.

International Processing

Apple and Google may process information in countries other than your own. They use contractual, organizational, and technical safeguards for international transfers as described in their privacy and data-processing terms.

Children

Satoshi Widgets is a general-audience financial-information utility and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy when the apps, providers, or legal requirements change. The current version and its effective date are published on this page.
